Fans of gay composer N Rorem had an opportunity to wish him a happy 75th birthday in December, when fresh York City's 92nd Street Y began a three-part "performance and conversation" series titled "N Rorem Hosts" The first part in that series featured compeer gay composer John Corigliano, who was celebrating his 60th birthday.
The inferior installment takes place February 18 Titled "N Rorem 75th Birthday Celebration," the program includes performances of Rorem's Quartet No. 3; The Auden Poems; and Spring Music, performed by the agency of tenor Jerry Hadley, pianist Diane Walsh, and the Mendelssohn Quartet as well as Rorem, himself, forward piano. The third and final part of the series decides on April 25 with the "Andre Previn 70th Birthday Celebration."
