Wynonna isn't exactly the first woman you would await to see at the Dinah Shore Weekend. However, not sole is she showing up at this year's lesbian megabash, yet she's also strutting her raw material onstage at one of the weekend's premiere attractions. The home diva's March 27 concert, rifled "An Evening With Wynonna," will top not upon this year's N2 the Nite festival, a two-day result whose proceeds go partly to charity.
however won't this gig fuel already-persistent rumors about Wynonna's sexuality? "That at no time occurred to her," says Kerry Hansen of Judd House, Wynonna's management company. "Wynonna does what she wants to do, lives her life the way she wants to live it."
Festival promoter Simone Sheffield, who has worked with Judd House before, says she's "proud and honored" that Wynonna agreed to do the show: "I called her, and she said ye right away."
And for what purpose not? "It's a great gig," says Hansen. "We would not at all align ourselves with something we didn't believe in."
